Attention Mercenaries,

for our further attempts in hunting down game performance issues we would like to ask for your help:

When you encounter lag, ping spikes or similar in-game, please note the time, mode, map and the details of what happened, if possible take a screenshot (e.g. of the abnormally high ping) or take a video and submit all of that to us via our new "Report Lag" form in our HelpCenter:

>>>CROSSFIRE HelpCenter<<<

The more detailed information on different cases we have, the better we will be able to pinpoint the factors that cause these issues and find ways to improve your experience!

Thank you very much for your ongoing support with battling the issues that compromise the CROSSFIRE experience!

Wishing you a beautiful day,

Wonko the Sane :)

Thanks for this. I'll be reporting constant lags about Death Rally and/or Biohazard in general.

I wrote a small program to help speed up the process. It collects Time & Date, Map, Mode, Traceroute, relevant PC specs and stores it all in a single text file and redirects you automatically to the support page.

Download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1r-cNzeLuEVLVA3Y0ozU0RlekU/view?usp=sharing

How to use it:

1. Download and store it where it's easily accessible, like your Desktop for instance

2. Play CF and wait for ping spikes

3. Run the program while the lag is happening

4. Attach the created text file to the support ticket

Note: User input must contain Letters and Numbers only, no special characters or symbols, or you will crash the program, as it's expecting a command, and is not going to be able to get it.

Feedback is always welcome, since what works well for me, might not work well for others, making it as accessible as possible and easy to use is my goal. :D

I have already reported it on Firday still waiting for a reply...

And ye there is a screenshot with my name and ping 4600.
In this game ping is like RNGesus , but only in this game I have lag spikes and huge ones for like 5+ seconds.

And yes Crossfire EU is allowed thru firewall port fowarded in Firewall and Router ,also I have installed fresh af new Win10 like 1 week ago.

But its only in Crossfire EU , other games like "Crossfire NA" , Overwatch , Black Desert Online , PuBG , CS:GO etc.. ping is fine not a single ping spike.

Regards
VN ^^

P.S Please don't tell me to download CCleaner and try it then ... -_-

If they're using business internet, it doesn't work like that, because theirs would be way more stable than ours.

Exactly, that is the big issue, valid point here Citru! :)

From my experience in ranked S&D short lag spikes very often (not always) just cause the ping to increase further and further until I DC and/or my game crashes.

Sometimes it kinda normalizes again for a few seconds, but starts going up again afterwards, despite my ping being normal on Teamspeak at the same time.

I'll maybe record a video whenever I feel like playing ranked again, but the thing is I can't record both screens and I can't find a good overlay showing my ping to some nearby server so I can't show how the ping to the CF server behaves differently than to pretty much any other server (in my case our TS server which is in germany).

Use my program that I linked above, I wrote it this morning, here's the source code incase you don't want to download it, and make your own batch file out of it by just creating a new text file (notepad) and saving it as "All Files" and the file ending with .bat - after that you just run it while you're having lag spikes in CF

It's important to get as many people as possible to submit their traceroutes, because that's the only real way to troubleshoot network problem like this one.

Citru:

Use my program

0/10 would not recommend

"Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz"

I'm triggered lol

But seriously this is pretty cool and I'll certainly use it, what are those servers I'm pinging? Is the cf server also there?

And also, windows 10 users with only 1 monitor can't execute the file mid-game because the game is always on top, for whatever reason..

Add a new line below the line which says PATH Win32_processor, and above @echo off

wmic cpu get MaxClockSpeed >> traceroute.txt

That should add the correct clockspeed

Yeah RIP Windows 10, nothing I can add to it that solves that problem, have to play in windowed mode

It's a traceroute to the server yes, and along the way, what seperates traceroute and ping, is that traceroute shows you where in the chain the ping starts spiking

Anyone want to know when those things occur?

When a player joins/leaves a server/room/channel... ANY mode. I've said this countless times before. Hope this time someone will take notes.

Just executed the file citru linked while lagging for 5 mins straight, in Prison TD my ping just spiked up and stayed at 500 for the rest of the game.

Guess what, the tool says my ping to the CF server was somewhere between 38 and 57ms.. Ping stayed 500 +-50 for another 3 mins right after the test, I did 2 tests both were showing that my connection is just fine.

This is so weird.
